What Photos to Include in an Etsy Listing
Lead with a clear view of the item for sale. Then show its important details, size and what is included. Add context, options or packaging when they answer a real buyer question.

Choose photos that answer buyer questions
Match your existing photos to the questions below. One image can answer several questions; record any useful view or confirmed fact that is missing.
| Buyer question | Photo to choose |
|---|---|
| What am I buying? | A clear view of the exact item or set. Use this first. |
| What is it like up close? | Material, finish or a defining feature the first view cannot show. |
| How big is it? | Confirmed measurements or a reliable size reference. |
| What will I receive? | Included pieces, quantity and options, with no ambiguity about accessories. |
Add context when it explains use, packaging when it matters to the purchase, or a process image when it explains how the item is made. Keep the finished product clear.
Put the photos in a useful order
For a mug and saucer, try this order. Move size earlier for a very small cup, or included pieces earlier for a multi-piece set.
- Show the exact item or set
Open with the mug and saucer clearly visible. Keep unrelated props from competing with them.
- Explain the defining detail
Use a close view for the handle, glaze or other feature that distinguishes this item.
- Make size understandable
Show confirmed dimensions or an honest size reference. Repeat essential measurements in the listing text.
- Clarify contents and options
Show the actual pieces or colour options being offered. Do not imply that a styled prop is included.
- Add context only if it helps
Finish with a relevant use or packaging view. Omit an image that repeats an answer already given.
There is no universal six-image sequence. The number of images in a Baboor service describes its delivery scope; it is not an Etsy limit or a rule for every listing.
Check what each image actually explains

The close-up shows the handle and glaze. The size example labels height 7.5 cm, body diameter 8 cm and saucer diameter 13.5 cm. Use your own confirmed measurements; these example labels are not product facts for your listing.
Record missing evidence. Do not invent measurements, options or accessories to complete a layout.
Review your selection
- At thumbnail size, the first image identifies the item for sale.
- Every additional image adds useful information.
- Colour, measurements, options and included pieces match the product and listing text.
- Important details remain readable on a phone; essential facts are also written in the listing.
